Description:
Heading north west from Jesi, entering the wine growing area, we drive through picturesque towns such as Monte San Vito and San Marcello. The house is located close to the town of Belvedere Ostrense which has all shops and local amenities that one needs and also the Museo Internazionale dell'Immagine Postale, a museum dedicated to the history and evolution of postal services throughout the world. The patron saint of Belvedere Ostrense is Rufus, who is said to have been a messenger and therefore is the patron saint of postmen.
The property is first accessed by a white road which winds its way through olive groves, vineyards and is lined with mature trees. The direct access road to the property is in moderate condition and approximately 500m in length but during the restoration process would need to be addressed and completed.
The house is set, centrally, in approximately 0.5ha of land which is lawned and within the grounds we find an outbuilding which was once used to store machinery but could easily be converted into a seperate guest accommodation if so desired and there is also plenty of space to build a swimming pool.
The ground floor of Villefranche, as is common in historical Marche farmhouses, was used to house and feed the animals and livestock and evidence of this is still present as the feeding troughs line the side of the large ground floor room. This room also has superb arches and vaulted ceilings and once restored this room could be a magnificent living or dining room. There are a further two rooms on the ground floor, one ideally could be converted into a kitchen and the smaller one as a storage/utility room.
The first floor of this property has the potential to construct four bedrooms and two bathrooms and all the rooms on this level have exposed beams. There is also an attic area to this property thus offering vast amounts of storage space.
From the house, the views over the surrounding countryside are endless and encompass many of the vineyards and olive groves that are located in this area and that produce the local Verdicchio and Lacrima di Morro d'Alba wines along with some of the most specialised olive oil.
