I stand before Casa Trionfo and ring the brass buzzer of this beautiful and traditional manor style home in the heart of Arezzo. Curious to see what lies inside, I wait for the owners to open up for me. I am kindly greeted and led past the foyer into the main hall. I am just amazed at the light and airy feel of what is before me! The end of the corridor is completely glassed and allows not only natural light to flood the home but ties in to the rest of the Deco style of the house. A fusion of sleek modern lines and antique furnishings detail the home and influence everything from the floors to the lighting.
This particular level holds a formal dining area and sitting room, a large office and a toilette room. Up on the first floor, the family has created the main living area. I find a comfortable family room, another dining area, a modern kitchen, another bathroom and a nice sized room that can double as an extra bedroom if needed. The modern and sleek lines have been carried throughout the whole house and include interesting coffered lighting and warm hardwood floors.
Upstairs to the second floor, I find the night quarters of the home, with four bedrooms, two of which are en suite and another bathroom. The top floor holds a large mansard area that is used as storage at the moment although it could easily becoming a wonderful addition to the rest of the house.
Outside, I am very pleased to see a spacious garden of about 200 sqm. Perfect for summer evening dinners and entertaining! This garden and in turn the home can be accessed from the back street as well. There is plenty of room to park a car if necessary yet the area still remains private and open.
All services are in excellent working order here and include the conveniences of a town location when it comes to amenities. Everything is a short walk away. The grocer's, a pharmacy, the butcher's and various bakeries are easy to find in the neighbourhood yet the historic centre of Arezzo is about 10 minutes away by foot. With fantastic shops, restaurants, cafés and many festivals to experience, Arezzo is a lively and interesting city to have at one's footsteps for a bit of tradition and culture.
Arezzo is the largest town in Western Tuscany, north of Cortona and west of Siena. Arezzo is known for its medieval architecture and has an evocative old quarter. Shoppers will enjoy Arezzo's goldsmiths, jewellers, and antiques.

My Thoughts: Casa Trionfo is the perfect home for those who want to live in the heart of a lively city. Large and spacious with circa 360 sqm of habitable space. Beautifully restored with a modern twist, this home is a bright and airy option to the classic stone built farmhouse. Close to the centre means that every whim can be satisfied. The garden is a wonderful bonus and enjoys the sun all day. I consider this to be a good choice for a family that chooses to live in Italy full-time. If you are looking for the typical country residence, this is not the property for you but if you love city life and the interesting mix of old tradition and modern sleek style, you really should view this wonderful home.
